Wine Enthusiast Companies Announces the 2024 Future 40 Honorees

VALHALLA, N.Y. (August 21, 2024)Wine Enthusiast Companies, a media and commerce company that stands as the leading source of innovation and information around wine, announced today the 2024 Future 40 honorees. The Future 40 was formerly known as the 40 Under 40. In 2022, Wine Enthusiast removed the age restriction and pivoted the list to the Future 40 to better represent the inclusion this feature was always meant to convey. Wine Enthusiast’s Future 40 recognizes tastemakers who inspire innovation and are bringing the drinks business into the future.

“Every year, the Wine Enthusiast Media team selects an impressive list of individuals who deserve to be recognized for their work in moving the industry forward,” said Jacqueline Strum, President & Publisher of Wine Enthusiast Media. “My parents co-founded a media and commerce company centered around wine 45 years ago, and it’s important to maintain growth. Evolution is critical to surviving in this industry, especially given the trends among the next generation of drinkers.”

The 2024 Future 40 tastemakers include:

  • A chemist who excels at the intersection of wine education and science communication driven by research, innovation and marketing;
  • A writer who specializes in making wine more engaging, accessible and relatable and fosters a sense of community within and around wine culture;
  • Two tequila aficionados who operate an online database and program that certifies tequilas as being free of additives;
  • The content creator who publishes memes with a welcomed dose of sarcasm without resorting to meanness or punching down;
  • The co-founder of the first-ever B Corp-certified cocktail company.

“The shelves of our local wine and spirits shops are changing faster than ever in response to evolving tastes, climate change pressures, and market conditions,” added John Capone, Executive Editor of Wine Enthusiast magazine. “The Future 40 honorees are making contributions to progress and better the beverage space.”
