Our Expertise

The Wine Enthusiast Tasting Panel, which includes expert drinks professionals whose expertise spans the world’s most important regions, blind tastes and rates more than 25,000 wines, hundreds of spirits and other drinks annually using a 100-point scale.

Our Process

All lists are editorially driven and selected. There is no nomination or submission process, nor a fee associated with inclusion in any list. Many factors are considered, including price, distribution of region, wine types and varieties and availability.

Note: Starting in September 2024, there is a processing fee of $65 per SKU to submit a wine or spirit for review. This processing fee goes directly toward supporting the new Wine Enthusiast Ratings Platform, producing the buying guides for producers and readers and upholding the blind-tasting standards that consumers have come to expect from Wine Enthusiast.

The winery has focused on elevating the Uco Valley region while positioning itself as one of its most iconic wine producers. The Zuccardis’ innovative spirit guided them to the Uco Valley in the early 2000s. Since then, they have explored it thoroughly, from a macro to a micro perspective. Cocktail Competitions Promise Opportunity. But Who Really Wins?

  For major spirits companies, cocktail competitions have long been a way to get products into the hands of creative bartenders and customers. Events start at the local level and scale all the way up to international tournaments, with potential for major prizes, mentorship from past winners, and rapid career growth.  Despite the potential benefits of getting involved with these kinds of events, not every brand wants to (or is able to) host. Independent spirit brands like Good Vodka , a vodka made from coffee fruit, find competitions too expensive and time-consuming for their small teams, which instead builds relationships with bartenders by “doing the legwork from bar to bar, account to account,” explains co-founder Tristan Willey.
